The Disperse Spell

The Disperse Spell

Disperse!
~ Bathzar using the Disperse Spell.
You have abused the sacred art, and you have abused the Merlin Circle. Magic isn't a game. No shortcuts! Falling in that water and getting electrocuted. That's how a sorcerer loses his power!
~ Balthazar scolding Dave about the mess he created.

The Disperse Spell is a powerful spell which stops all nearby spells and other magic-based activities from continuing.

Usage[]

By exclaiming the word "Disperse" and spreading his/her arm(s) while channeling a sufficient amount of Mana through his/her catalyst at the same time, the caster instantly stops any magical activities within his/her radius from continuing. The spell is very effective for handling out-of-control mystical phenomenon caused by a spell went wrong such as Cleaning Spell.

It is unclear whether this spell can be used for combat. Assuming it to be the case, it can be inferred that the spell works like EMP (electromagnetic pulse) to electronics.

History[]

The Merlinean sorcerer Balthazar used this spell to cease Dave Stutler's Cleaning Spell from spiraling out of control.

The former Merlinean wizard Horvath also used the same spell with his enchanted sword in his right hand when he freed the insidious Morganian witch Morgana le Fay from his master Merlin's bindings.

Trivia[]

  • The Disperse Spell was originally from the segment "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" of the 1940 Disney classic Fantasia. The difference however, is that Yen Sid didn't exclaim the word "Disperse!" while performing this magical ability. Additionally, he spread out his arm thrice while Balthazar only did so once.
  • It is unknown if this spell can be used to stop the Quest-Bound Immortality Spell.
